Yasuo Niimi

Yasuo Niimi, 83, of Keaau, died June 22 at his residence. Born in Mountain View, he was a retired X-ray and laboratory technician at Sedan City Hospital in Sedan, Kan., worked for Jas W. Glover, Hawaiian-Japanese golf course in Mountain View and Flintkote Co. and was a Korean War Army veteran.

Friends may call at 10 a.m. July 8 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for an 11 a.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn and flowers omitted.

He is survived by wife, Dolores Niimi, of Keaau; sons, Dennis (Thresa) Niimi, of Keaau Allen (Debra) Niimi, of Grand Junction, Colo.; daughters, Mara (Stanley) Kerr, of Keaau, Jan Dudgeon, of Cody, Wyo.; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Branden Ferreira

Branden John Ferreira, 30, of Beaverton, Ore., died May 29. Born in Hilo, he was a manager for Wells Fargo Bank.

Nathan Morita

Nathan Shizuo Morita, 59, of Hilo, died June 15 at home. Born in Hilo, he was a retired teacher at Hilo High School, a fisherman and member of the Honpa Hongwanji, Hilo Betsuin, and Akaka Falls Lions Club.

Friends may call at 9:30 a.m. July 9 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 10:30 a.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers.

He is survived by brother, Alan (Mimi Donnelly) Morita, of Kaneohe, Oahu; sister, Marian (Michael Brown) Takeshima, of Hilo; three nephews; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Rex Morris

Rex Taylor Morris, 75, of Waikoloa, died July 3 at his residence. Born Aug. 28, 1935, in San Pedro, Calif., he was retired from the Federal Aviation Administration, an Army veteran and jazz musician and leader of The Good Times Jazz Band.

Friends may call at 2 p.m. July 9 at Waikoloa Community Church for a celebration of life. Family requests no flowers.

He is survived by wife, Derry Morris, of Waikoloa; son, Keith (Dana) Morris, of Gig Harbor, Wash.; daughter, Nikki (David Love) Morris, of Juneau, Alaska; two granddaughters.

Shizue Nagoshi

Shizue Nagoshi, 91, of Pepeekeo, died June 19 at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born in Pepeekeo, she was a retired secretary for the former Hilo Coast Processing Co. and member of the Hilo Coast United Church of Christ.

Friends may call at 10 a.m. July 9 at Hilo Coast United Church of Christ in Honomu for an 11 a.m. service. Burial of ashes to take place at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2 at a later date. Family requests asual attire be worn and flowers and monetary gifts omitted.

She is sSurvived by brother, Charles Nakamura, of Los Angeles; sister, Teruko Shiraki, of Virginia; numerous nieces and nephews.

David Saunders

David Gustaf Saunders, 79, of Captain Cook, died June 11 at Kona Community Hospital. Born Nov. 1, 1931, in Philadelphia, he was a retired massage therapist and a Urantia group leader.

He is survived by daughters, Mahina (Randy Shelor) Saunders, of Kailua-Kona, Suzanne Saunders, of Hawi; son, Gregory (Felizia) Saunders, of Captain Cook; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Pauline Miyasato

Pauline Eunice Miyasato, 86, of Hilo, died June 27 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Binghamton, N.Y., she was a retired music and piano teacher and member of Hilo Church of the Nazarene, National Guild of Piano Teachers and Central Kawailani Kumiai.

Friends may call at 6 p.m. July 11 at Hilo Church of the Nazarene, 595 Kupulau Road, for a 6:30 p.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn and flowers omitted.

She is survived by sons, Clyde (Sandra) Miyasato, of Waipahu, Oahu, Lance (Cathy) Miyasato, of Hilo; daughters, Gail (Craig) Inouye, of Hilo, Karen (Blake) Yafuso, of Mililani, Oahu; sister, Carol (Frank) Chase, of New York; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Kay Yamamoto

Kay Kimiko Yamamoto, 98, of Kapaau, died June 18. Born in Kohala, she was the owner and beautician of Kay's Beauty Salon in Kohala and member of Kohala Jodo Mission.

Tsutomu Fujimoto

Tsutomu Fujimoto, 89, of Hilo, died June 14 at home. Born in Hilo, he was a retired vice president with HPM Building Supply, World War II Army veteran and member of the TNT Golf Club and a former member of the Japanese Hilo Golf Club and Pirates Golf Club.

Private services in Hilo and urn committal at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific (Punchbowl) on Oahu were held. Family requests monetary donations be omitted.

He is survived by companion, Irene Fujita, of Hilo; daughter, Sandra (Timothy) Collins, of Michigan; son, Gregg (Patricia) Fujimoto, of Aiea, Oahu; brother, James (Lillian) Fujimoto, of Hilo; sisters, Michiko Omor, Sumiko Takata, both of Los Angeles; two grandchildren.

Diana Klegner

Diana "D" Tarita Klegner, 33, of Hilo, died June 27 at Hilo Medical Center. She was born Aug. 1, 1977, in Honolulu.

Private services were held.

She is survived by son, Iain Klegner, of Hilo; daughter, Helena Brewer, of Hilo; partner, Caroline Vallin, of Hilo; father, Joseph Klegner, of Texas; sisters, Leila Pihana, of Hilo, Rosa Brewer of Tahiti, Dora (Ernest) Diaz, Linda Klegner, Hina Klegner, all of Texas; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Kathleen Hicks Rousell

Kathleen V. Hicks Rousell, 64, died Feb. 28 in Orlando, Fla. Her name appeared incorrectly in a recent obituary.
