Florence Rita Aguiar, 87, of Hilo, died July 7 at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born Nov. 2, 1923, in Hilo, she was a housewife and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo.

Alfred John Manthei, 73, of Keaau, died July 10 at a care home. Born Dec. 12, 1937, in Honolulu, he was a retired plumber, member of the VFW Post 3830 Pahoa and Army veteran.
